O'Brien House Hosts Youth Fest
by Clare Cook
O'Brien House has
strengthened its focus on substance abuse prevention with tailored
programs for children and families. The success of these developing
programs has been exciting.
A day celebrating the positive choices of inner-city children
entitled, "I'm A Good Kid Too" is scheduled for early spring of
2006. The event will give O'Brien House and those involved one more
reason for excitement.
Activities will include a talent show, relay
games, a stomping performance, children's bands and poetry readings.
Food, balloons and prizes will also be available. Yolanda Mulkey,
prevention programs manager at O'Brien House, said, "By holding this
event, we are showing these kids we know it's rough and we
appreciate their decisions." |
