Support
Services |
We
believe that intermediate care services increase the effectiveness of
treatment programs for substance abuse and that the percentages of
individuals remaining in recovery is increased by living in a structured and
protected environment during the first six months of recovery. |

Halfway
House Program
(6 months)
|
A structured community based
on drug-free living. Clients are supported with job searches, educational
services and 12-Step recovery. Clients who are
returning from treatment are given an opportunity to build a solid
base for their recovery. This program requires a
six month commitment. The client must actively seek employment, obtain
and use a sponsor. Clients attend
counseling sessions weekly; as well as, AA, NA, and CA meetings. Upon completion of
this program, the client has the opportunity to utilize his/her established
savings to pursue independent-living in the community. |

Relapse
Prevention &
Life Skills
Program
|
O'Brien House embraces the concept that in order for many alcohol or drug-addicted persons to remain sober over the long-run, it is necessary to equip
them with principles which aid in their resistance to return to or relapse
into their former addictive lifestyles. In order to aid O'Brien House clients
with building chemical resistance and resiliency, we engage all clients in
Relapse Prevention Education and Life Skills Training designed to prevent
relapse. Clients are required to participate part in support and
therapeutic group sessions weekly to help build the necessary mental and
emotional structure, allowing them to resist fantasizing, cravings, and
their former addictive lifestyle.

Educational
Advancements
Program
|
The Educational Advancements
Program provides an opportunity for O'Brien House clients who, in the pursuit
a new life in sobriety, desire to embark upon educational enhancement that
will expand their chances of succeeding in the job market. Clients are aided
by way of referrals and application processing to GED programs, training
projects, technical/trades schools, and institutions of higher learning. |
